About Us

In the heart of Atlanta, Georgia State’s School of Public Health provides a practice-based education in a thriving urban center, creating leaders who understand complex health problems that affect cities worldwide. Public Health students engage in practicum opportunities throughout the greater Atlanta’s vibrant public health community in places such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, local government agencies and international non-governmental organizations. Georgia State is the only school in the metro area offering public health graduate students an affordable public education and the flexibility of part-time schedules for working professionals.
Ours is one of the most diverse public health programs in the nation – where more than 69% of all students are minorities and 6 percent are from countries outside the U.S. In fact, our international student body and alumni include Fulbright and other international scholars from more than 40 countries. The school draws a diverse and talented pool of full- and part-time domestic and international students from varying personal and professional backgrounds.
